Phangnga - Ranong
Leave for Ranong
Pay a visit to Baan Nam Kem Tsunami Memorial Park. Built to remembrance the victims the memorial has a
curve wall on one side representing the big waves while another side situates an old ship. This local
fishing vessel was drift by the gigantic waves and finally settled here. A leaning wall on another side
bears the names and faces of 3,500 Thais and foreigners who lost their lives in the area.
Lunch, then head north for Ranong.
Arrive at Ranong.
Take a cruise on the Royal Andaman. Get a glimpse of yesteryear cruise on the wooden junk which follows the
trail of King Rama V who visited Ranong a century ago. Add colours to the journey with Peranakan attires.
Pay homage to Guan-Yin statue, visit friendly fishery villages, and witness one of the best sunset views on
Enjoy local specialties of Ranong namely Loe Mee Pu, or fried noodle topped with crab gravy sauce, Khao Man
Lor Kor Yor or steamed rice in coconut milk served with somtam, ancient style dessert, seafood, and
Participate in the Loy Prok Prao Ceremony. Like Loy Krathong, local dwellers light a candle in coconut
shell and float it in the sea, to appreciate the Goddess of Water in supporting fishermen.
Get back to Ranong Lighthouse Pier (Khao Nang Hong).

Leave for Koh Phayam, a peaceful island hidden off Ranong’s coast. Enjoy its turquoise coloured sea and
neglected beaches. Lunch at Blue Sky Resort.
Leave for the pier.
Arrive at Ranong Airport.
Depart for Bangkok.
Arrive at Don Muang International Airport.
